New Music from Ye, PinkPantheress, Shygirl ROSALIA & More!
Industrial hip-hop engineered by Balenciaga soundtracks Ye’s custody battle in real time. It reminds me of a much more burned out and sinister version of Björk’s “Sue Me”.
Speaking of burned out, “DO I LOOK HAPPY TO YOU?!?!” has got to be one of the funniest choruses of the year. This is essentially a well-made Future track with some great Ye riffing in the second half.
Mura Masa/Lil Uzi Vert /PinkPantheress/Shygirl
Mura Masa and PinkPantheress are back once again with a sparkly, pretty pop track. They bring Shygirl and Lil Uzi Vert for two very unlikely and great performances, but of course Pantheress styles the show with Euphoria bars like “I know I messed up when I was seeing your best friend.”
“Staring at the Ceiling”
HANNAH HAS RETURNED! The PC Music very much still has it with sharp verses and choruses, and a great overall vibe that has carried over from her previous work. Production is really sick too.
The difference between this and the material on her last album is so shockingly great, it’s almost hard to believe. I love the hard rock energy on this with drum flurries and blaring guitars, yet there is still an artpop element at paly with SASAMI’s wide-ranging performance.
Swedish House Mafia/The Weekend
“Moth To A Flame (Chris Lake Remix)”
I didn’t know exactly what to expect from this artist or this track just by the look of it, but this kicks ass. Great over-the-top performance from Jean himself, but the guitar work, both electric and acoustic, also adds a ton of character.
Sevdaliza combines tasteful minimal trip-hop with artpop vocals for a slow building, snappy new song.
